Horse Eventing 3 | You are in :Horse Games |
How to play?
First part of the game is dressup. You choose your horse, riders hairstyle, weather and surroundings. Some options are locked and you have to win some points before you can unlock those. With arrow keys you can rotate your horse and take a look at it from every angle. And like in real life, it is very important to name your horse. Here are some suggestions: Mirage, Sunset, Cookie, Tango, Farrow, Spirit, Princess, Angel, Destiny... If you don't like any of those, well it is your horse after all and you can name it any way you like. When you are done choosing and naming you press 'play' button and the game starts. You will be offered 3 competitions, and I recommend dressage which is the first one on the right.

- dressage -
You can win a medal in every competition. If you don't make any mistakes you win 200 points. You are also rewarded 100 points if you make 10 perfect moves in a row. You control the horse using keys, as described in in-game help section. The game is simplified. Instead of doing some moves, all you have to do is follow which key you need to press. The move is considered right if you have pressed the right key. It is that simple.

- calf cutting -
This is a cowboy skill and it really doesn't belong in horse eventing. The idea is to come close to a calf and to make it go in certain direction by pressing the 'X' key. To successfully complete the task you have to make the calf go through certain number of spots which are marked with beams of light. If you knock down a barrel you get negative points, you get negative points even if the calf does it.

Barrel Racing
This is the easiest and shortest part of the competition where you only ride across the field and jump over barrels.
What is horse eventing?
Eventing or horse trials or earlier known as combined training is a sporting event where competitors compete in 3 different equestrian disciplines: dressage, cross-country and show jumping. Dressage or horse training shows just how well has the horse remembered and practiced making certain moves or steps. Very often dressage is regarded as horse ballet too. Cross Country is competition where rider overcomes various jump and water obstacles and previously prepared track. This competition tests above all horses stamina and spunk. And finally show jumping is the last stamina test. It is usually performed indoors, has a time limit and you get penalties for knocking down rails. Horse eventing usually lasts for 3 or 4 days but there is a possibility that all events get packed into one day event.
